Purpose of the Role: As a Switches Project Engineer at Expleo, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of state-of-the-art switches for current and future customer road cars. You will be part of the Cockpit Electronics team, overseeing the specification, development, testing, and delivery of all interior switches. This role involves developing system requirements, managing suppliers, creating test cases and procedures, executing manual tests, and supporting the Cockpit Electronics Principal Engineer in proof-of-concept development and business reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the management of suppliers.
  • Lead the development of the roadmap for future switches in customers road cars.
  • Write detailed system specifications for all switches.
  • Lead the integration of switches with the overall vehicle architecture.
  • Manage the development of multiple hardware and software suppliers to deliver features on time, on cost, and within quality and functional specifications.
  • Report on current activities and issues at a business level.
  • Develop and coordinate DVP plans for all areas associated with switches software and hardware.
  • Ensure and sign-off launch readiness of features for production.
  • Test customer Road cars with the latest features and content before release.
  • Assist with fault finding and root cause analysis of software and hardware failures.
  • Report bugs and create test reports.
  • Drive issue resolution with hardware and software suppliers.
  • Take responsibility for resolving issues on current production vehicles.
  • Lead the mechanical integration of components within the vehicle interior.
  • Be responsible for the attribute performance of the switches.

Required Skills, and Experience:

  • Several years of work experience in switches development and delivery of mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems for automotive applications.
  • Experience with the Systems Development Lifecycle (V Model); writing system requirements, defining test cases, and writing test procedures.
  • Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard.
  • Proficiency in the creation and maintenance of DFMEAs.
  • Organized, systematic, and skilled in fault finding.
  • Familiarity with issue tracking tools (Jira, Mantis, Bugzilla, etc.).
  • Ability to interpret, coordinate, and react to project milestones and defined timing plans.
