Adept Resourcing Group are excited to be working alongside a globally recognised manufacturing company operating across various fast-paced sectors. Together we are searching for a Drafts Person to join their dynamic and busy team.
The right Drafts Person will report directly to the Engineering Lead and produce drawings from both written and verbal requirements. The ability to read technical drawing is crucial for this role as the right Drafts Person will be required to transpose them to designs that are fit for purpose. Familiarity with 2D and 3D CAD modelling tools will be required.

Drafts Person Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work directly with engineering staff, sales staff and customers to produce drawings from written and verbal requirements
- Read customers technical requirements and transpose them to designs that are fit for purpose
- Create original designs and modify or improve existing designs using 2D/3D CAD modelling tools
- Select the correct materials and consider manufacturing requirements
- Provide internal technical support
- Use corporate drawing standards as guidelines
- Ensure approval of all drawings from the Manager
- Completion of manufacturing drawings as and when required
- Maintain the drawings database with links to company drawings where applicable and file paper copies
- Liaise with the sales team and/or customer when further information is required
- Provide copies of existing drawings as and when requested Engineering Support
- Work closely with all relevant departments in the company to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information and are error free
- Respond to all internal and external customer enquiries in a professional manner and within the agreed timescales
- Work closely with and support colleagues to maintain effective communication at all times
- Keep knowledge up to date on all systems including Efacs, CRM, Draftsight and Solidworks
- Keep up to date with new material technologies and designs
- Ensure all KPI's and targets are met
- To adhere at all time to all the Company's policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Quality Assurance and Equality and Diversity.
- Any other duties which are commensurate with the post
- A flexible approach to work at all times and to work outside normal office hours when required
Drafts Person Minimum Experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- A minimum of 1 years' experience working with 3D CAD on a daily basis.
- HND / HNC or equivalent in drafting design / mechanical engineering or equivalent
