Sewell Wallis are currently representing our client, a US owned manufacturing business based in Sheffield as they look to recruit a Financial Accountant. As a financial Accountant you will be required to take responsibility for a wide range of accounting duties.

You will maintain accountancy standards and working procedures, coupled with financial acumen and budgetary foresight, to help to drive the business forward. A varied list of duties would see you working alongside a diverse team of skilled professionals within the current finance team.

Your exceptional Excel skills, audit and compliance background, problem-solving and analytical skills would be utilised to manage the financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems.

What will you be doing?

  • Manage the statutory financial audit.
  • Assist with accurate and robust monthly forecasting and preparation of the management accounts including all group submissions including financial and non financial information.
  • To convert the monthly accounts in to an audit ready pack with all the supporting schedules, disclosures and back-up documentation including detailed balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Create the daily and weekly financial management data from the system and create daily KPI's and weekly profitability reports to assist the business manage costs.
  • Update all of the planned meeting reporting data including correlating information from the wider business and ensuring tight deadlines are met to allow sufficient preparation time.
  • Manage all compliance reporting including VAT, ONS and Pension.
  • Monthly forecasting and annual budgeting.
  • Ad hoc tasks to support the site finance team.

What skills do we require?

  • Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with experience working in a similar role.
  • Self-confidence, decisiveness, resilience and ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Passion, energy and drive and a pro-active approach is needed for this role.
