Financial Controller - Sheffield

6 Month FTC - £60,000pa

We are working closely with a fantastic client based in Sheffield looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join their Finance Team on an interim 6-month FTC.

As a successful candidate you will have previous FC experience and be able to come in and hit the ground running. It would be a preference to have previous experience line managing someone in the finance team at the role will have one direct report.

Responsibilities as a Financial Controller:

  • To advise and support the CFO and CEO in the financial aspects of their responsibilities.
  • Providing routine financial management reports for monthly management accounts, in particular Trust Balance Sheet Cash flow and capital areas.
  • Ensure monthly bank reconciliations are up to date and accurate throughout the year.
  • Ensure that cash-flow practices and procedures, at all levels of the business, are competently managed operationally and strategically to ensure that the Trust are always in a positive cash position.
  • Work in collaboration with stakeholders, particularly on embedding strong financial governance within the business.
  • Evaluate and maximise the effectiveness of the finance system. As a minimum, the system must be consistent, resilient, secure and able to meet the operational and regulatory requirements of the business as well as the reporting needs for management to add timely financial decision making, with accurate focussed financial information.
  • Contribute towards the preparation of a Financial Reporting Pack on a monthly basis for the Chief Finance Officer.
  • Work collaboratively across all business functions to share and implement best practice and develop the financial understanding of team members at all levels.

Requirements of the role:

  • Previously worked as a Financial Controller with extensive experience.
  • Knowledgeable with previous experience line managing.
  • ACCA/CIMA Qualified/qualified by experience.
