Finance Manager / Financial Controller Construction, Real Estate, Property

Overview:

Ardeta Search is proud to partner with a leading property development & investment group that specialises in residential, commercial, student accommodation, and property development across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Finance Manager / Financial Controller to help lead their financial operations and contribute to their ambitious expansion plans.

The Role:

Based in their Sheffield HQ, this is a key role overseeing all financial activities for the business. Youll be responsible for managing the financial health of a diverse property group. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to help lead the ongoing finance function, drive improvements, and make a significant impact on the companys future growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting on the companys group to senior leadership & owners
  • Manage month-end and year-end processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Support the Finance Director in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Implement financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with other leaders in the business to assess financial performance across all sectors of the group.
  • Support ongoing development projects with financial oversight, including cost control and ROI analysis.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor a growing finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller
  • Leadership: Ability to lead a finance team and influence at a senior level.
  • Skills: Excellent financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Attributes: Proactive, strategic thinker with the ability to manage multiple priorities and any experience working within a property, construction, development real estate business would be useful but not essential.
