We are seeking a Financial Controller to oversee the group financial operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient and effective financial management, adhering to company policies, minimizing risks, and maximizing profit opportunities. The successful candidate will provide quality management support to non-financial management in effective operational management. The ideal candidate will have experience within hotels, hospitality or similar industries.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee the overall running of the finance department
  • Monitor and control payroll costs in line with forecasted business levels.
  • Produce and update financial forecasts and manage departmental budgets to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Implement and review promotional activities to boost departmental sales.
  • Ensure all accounting procedures are accurately carried out within agreed timelines.
  • Manage daily, monthly, and annual revenue reports and ensure all financial deadlines are met.
  • Produce finance management review packs and ensure all balance sheet items are reviewed and reconciled.
  • Assist in the production of rolling forecasts and coordinate the compilation of monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets.
  • Monitor revenue control procedures and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Supervise the Sales Ledger, ensuring accuracy of billing and timely collection of debts.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in financial management within the events, hospitality, hotel industry or similiar, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Ability to lead and train teams to perform to high standards.
  • Proficient in accounting software and financial reporting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with management teams and external stakeholders.
