Role Overview

The successful candidate will take responsibility for financial reporting, cost management, and strategic financial planning, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all aspects of the finance function. This role requires a hands-on approach, offering valuable insights to senior leadership while leading a dedicated finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review management accounts, budgets, and forecasts with a particular focus on manufacturing costs.
  • Cost Management: Oversee costing processes, ensuring accurate inventory valuation and cost allocation.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a small finance team
  • Cash Flow & Working Capital: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure financial stability.
  • Strategic Financial Insights: Provide valuable financial guidance to senior management, improving cost control and efficiency.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting standards, financial regulations, and company policies.
  • Audit & Controls: Manage relationships with external auditors and drive process improvements in financial reporting.
  • Month-End & Year-End Processes: Oversee financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Financial Controller within a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of manufacturing costings, inventory valuation, and financial controls.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights.
  • Leadership: Experience managing and developing high-performing finance teams.
