About the RoleElevation Recruitment Group is currently working on behalf of a leading manufacturing business seeking an experienced and qualified Interim Financial Controller. This role will be pivotal in overseeing the financial operations of the business during a period of transition, with specific responsibility for costing and financial control within the manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive financial control experience, with a strong background in manufacturing finance and costing processes. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting while driving improvements in cost control and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review management accounts, forecasts, and budgets, with a specific focus on manufacturing costings.
  • Oversee the costing process, ensuring accurate cost allocation and inventory valuation.
  • Lead a team of four, fostering a high-performance culture within the finance function.
  • Monitor cash flow and manage working capital to ensure the business meets its operational requirements.
  • Provide strategic financial insights to senior management, with a focus on cost control and financial efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
  • Manage relationships with auditors during the year-end audit process.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial controls and reporting efficiency.
  • Lead and manage month-end and year-end financial processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

Skills & Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller role, within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing costings, inventory valuation, and cost control.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial reporting and management accounting processes.
  • Ability to analyse complex financial data and provide actionable insights to the business.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communicator, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
