About the RoleElevation Recruitment Group is delighted to partner with a leading manufacturing business in search of an experienced Interim Financial Controller. This role is critical in overseeing the financial operations during a period of transition, with particular focus on manufacturing costing and financial control.

The successful candidate will possess a wealth of financial control expertise, particularly within manufacturing finance and costing processes. You will be key to ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of financial reporting while actively driving improvements in cost control and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review management accounts, forecasts, and budgets, with an emphasis on manufacturing costings.
  • Manage the costing process, ensuring precise cost allocation and accurate inventory valuation.
  • Lead and motivate a team of four, cultivating a high-performance culture within the finance department.
  • Oversee cash flow and working capital management to support the business’s operational requirements.
  • Provide senior management with strategic financial insights, focusing on cost control and financial efficiency.
  • Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.
  • Manage auditor relationships throughout the year-end audit process.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial controls and reporting effectiveness.
  • Lead and manage month-end and year-end financial processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

Skills & Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing costings, inventory valuation, and cost control processes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting and management accounting.
  • Ability to analyse complex financial data and provide actionable insights to the business.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
