Job Opportunity: School Admin Assistant (Part-Time)

Location: Primary School, S9 area, Sheffield
Position: Temporary Admin Assistant (Grade 4)
Start Date: May 2025
Duration: Maternity cover

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Admin Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis to cover a maternity leave. The role involves working 25-30 hours per week for 39 weeks of the year (excluding school holidays).

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Wednesday: 8am - 1pm
  • Thursday and Friday: 8am - 4pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the main reception desk, handling phone calls and messages
  • Inputting data on SIMS
  • Reporting school dinners on SIMS
  • Monitoring emails
  • Providing first aid (first aid training preferred)
  • Stock monitoring
  • General administrative tasks (computer proficiency required)

Skills Required:

  • Organisational Skills: Managing multiple tasks, maintaining records, and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Communication Skills: Both written and verbal communication are crucial for interacting with staff, students, and parents.
  • Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, SIMS) and general computer skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in data entry, record-keeping, and other administrative tasks.
  • Time Management: Prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Addressing issues as they arise and finding efficient solutions.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Building positive relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • First Aid Training: Preferable for handling minor injuries and emergencies.

The desired candidate must be available on Wednesday, 19th March, followed by a short trial in the office.
