Senior Quality Engineer

Adept have been retained by a renowned engineering and steel group based in Sheffield who are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join their expanding team.
Due to recent growth and a broader customer portfolio, the company is enhancing its quality department to support an expanded range of prime and third-party quality approvals.

Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Quality Professional to join our head office in Sheffield. The role is full-time, office-based, Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm, with regular interaction across multiple local sites. The successful candidate will report directly to the Group Quality Manager, assisting with managing and coordinating quality efforts across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities / Requirements:
* Act as deputy to the Group Quality Manager.
* Support the maintenance and expansion of Quality Management System (QMS) approvals.
* Collaborate with Quality and Technical departments to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* Develop standard operating procedures and working instructions.
* Conduct internal and external audits.
* Proven experience in a Quality Professional/Engineer role, ideally in a steel or engineering environment.
* In-depth knowledge of ISO9001:2015, BS EN/AS 9100/9120, and/or Nadcap standards.
* Previous experience in conducting audits and applying problem-solving techniques (e.g., Ishikawa, 5 Whys, 8D).

Qualifications / Skills:
* Certification or Diploma in Quality Management or a related field.
* Auditing qualifications.
* Educational background in English, Mathematics, and Science.
* Membership in the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) is preferred but not required.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the business.
* Adaptable with excellent multitasking abilities.
* Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
* Capable of meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
