Senior Quality Engineer

Sheffield Based

£35,000 - £40,000

Adept have been retained by a renowned engineering and steel group based in Sheffield who are expanding their quality department with the appointment of a Senior Quality Engineer.

Due to recent growth and a broader customer portfolio, the company is enhancing its quality department to support an expanded range of prime and third-party quality approvals.

Do you have experience with ISO 9001:2015 and /or BS EN/AS 9100/9120 Aerospace Management System and/or Nadcap. If so, I would like to hear from you!

The Role:

The group comprises multiple independently operated businesses, specializing in areas such as forging, heat treatment, testing, machining, and the global distribution of advanced alloys and specialty steels.

They have a team of quality-focused professionals based at their headquarters, and this full-time, office-based role involves interaction across various sites in the region. This position offers plenty of variety throughout the day! The successful candidate will report directly to the Group Quality Manager to help unify quality activities across the group while managing their own portfolio of group companies.

Qualifications / Skills:

  • Previous roles as a Quality Professional, Engineer, or in a similar position
  • Experience in a steel or engineering environment (preferred, but not required)
  • Strong understanding of National Standards and certifications, such as ISO9001:2015, BS EN/AS 9100/9120 for Aerospace Management Systems, and/or Nadcap
  • Audit experience aligned with the above standards
  • Skills in problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa, and 8D

Preferred qualifications include:

  • NVQ, Certificate, or Diploma in Quality Management or a similar field
  • Relevant auditing certifications
  • Secondary education in English, Mathematics, and Science (e.g., GCSEs or A-levels)
  • Membership in the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) is a plus but not essential
