Position Overview:
As our in-house Fireplace Architect, you will be crucial in designing, planning, and executing our projects through to completion. We are looking for someone with great skills particularly in 3D SketchUp software, a solid understanding of building techniques, exceptional organisational and planning skills, and excellent communications.
We operate within a low volume, high service model, and are completely driven by customer empathy and satisfaction.
The role is multifaceted, requiring collaboration and flexibility in a small team setting.

Key Responsibilities:
Project CAD Design:
Collaborate with the Director to understand project scope and objectives.
Interpret site drawings, sketches, and photos to digitally recreate proposed environments and to integrate the perfect solution.
Develop accurate 3D SketchUp models with technical attributes such as flue design, site preparation requirements, and regulatory compliance.
Prepare 3D models so they are ready for client presentations and revise as needed/instructed.

Project Completion:
Oversee project lifecycles from design to completion, managing timelines and resources.
Coordinate with suppliers, architects, and builders to ensure correct component supply.
Work with installation teams to ensure accurate implementation of design plans and resolve any issues during installation.

Qualifications and Skills:
Must Have:
Proficiency in SketchUp 3D design software (demonstration will be required during the selection process).
Understanding of standard/typical building practices and methods.
Ability to research and find answers independently.
Strong organisational and methodical skills.
Excellent and confident communications.
Understanding of project management from design to completion.
Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
Self-motivated with a strong drive for success.
Necessary 'right to work in the UK' status.

Advantageous:
Ability to create CGI photo-style renders for finished designs (currently outsourced).

Attractive and negotiable based on experience and skill suitability. (£35k pa +)
Hours:
A Very flexible working week, exact hours to be agreed and can be adapted to ensure a great work/life balance. Typical office hours are Mon Fri, 8 am 2 pm.
We are focused on results and great customer experience, rather than micromanaging attendance; any remaining hours can be completed out of office.
Training:
Industry and product-specific training provided as necessary.
Holidays:
20 days plus statutory holidays.
