Job Title: BookkeeperLocation: SheffieldMy client is a reputable accountancy practice located in Sheffield, specializing in providing comprehensive financial services to small and medium-sized businesses. We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented bookkeeper to join our team. * You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for our clients. Your duties will include but are not limited to: * Recording financial transactions in accounting software (e.g Sage QuickBooks, Xero) accurately and efficiently. * Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. * Reconciling bank statements and credit card transactions. * Assisting with weekly and monthly payroll processing on behalf of clients and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. * Providing support during audits and liaising with auditors as necessary. * Communicating effectively with clients to address inquiries and provide financial guidance. * Assisting with general administrative tasks as needed to support the smooth operation of the practice. Qualifications and Skills:* Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role, preferably in an accountancy practice setting however this is not essential. * Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms. * Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices. * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping. * Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. * Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues. * A proactive and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Relevant qualifications in accounting or bookkeeping are desirable but not essential.
