Bookkeeper

My client, a firm of chartered accountants in Sheffield is looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their firm.

The appointee will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records for the firm's clients and ensuring compliance with VAT regulations. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to join a reputable firm.

This could be a full-time position or perhaps a four day per week role, with hybrid working arrangements available where sought.

Main duties of the role:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for a portfolio of clients, including processing invoices, receipts and payments
• Prepare and submit VAT returns in accordance with HMRC deadlines, ensuring compliance with VAT regulations.
• Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Liaise with clients to gather necessary financial information, answer queries, and provide advice on VAT-related matters.
• Use of a variety of software, predominantly Xero, but also Sage and Quickbooks.

Salary: 24,000 - 26,000
