We are seeking an Interim School Caretaker for an immediate start in the DN4 area. This role is essential for maintaining the safety and operational efficiency of the school premises. The position is temporary, lasting between 4 to 6 weeks, with working hours from 7am to 1pm.

Day-to-day of the role:

Opening and closing the school premises, including setting and disarming security systems.
Conducting regular security checks and maintaining a log of any incidents or breaches.
Performing basic maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, minor repairs, and coordinating with external contractors for more significant repairs.
Ensuring that pathways and access routes are clear and safe for all school users.
Managing heating and lighting to ensure a comfortable and well-lit environment.
Assisting with the setup and clearance of school events and activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Must hold an enhanced DBS check on the update service.
Experience in caretaking or facilities management, preferably within a school environment.
Reliable and punctual with the ability to manage time effectively.
Good practical skills for carrying out minor repairs and tasks.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team when necessary.
