We are seeking an Estate Officer to join our team, responsible for maintaining the environmental and horticultural aspects within the council’s housing areas. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, enjoys working outdoors, and is committed to providing a clean and safe environment for the community.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Perform estate and block cleaning, ensuring communal areas are tidy and presentable.
  • Clear blocked refuse chutes and maintain cleanliness in bin rooms.
  • Collect and dispose of rubbish responsibly.
  • Deliver mail to residents and address any graffiti issues.
  • Liaise with tenants, report repairs, and conduct post-inspection of communal repairs.
  • Produce written and verbal reports as required.
  • Undertake minor communal repairs and horticultural tasks such as weeding and shrub pruning.
  • Drive vehicles and operate machinery as needed for maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Empty dry stores and dispose of contents appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed using handheld technology.
  • Adhere to established Safe Systems of Work, Health and Safety Guidelines, Policies, and Procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  • Commitment to working safely in accordance with relevant policies.
  • Basic knowledge of customer care principles.
  • Flexibility to work from different locations/depots and in all weather conditions.
