Job Summary

We are seeking a Manufacturing Inspector to oversee and ensure product quality. This role involves identifying defects, enhancing productivity, reducing defect rates, and minimising re-work and waste.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Product inspection and quality improvement activities.
  • Refine inspection processes.
  • Carry out audits and inspections of subcontracted manufactured items.
  • Look at quality control, inspection, testing, and verification of components and assemblies.
  • Look after the system, process, and product performance, making recommendations for improvements.

Key Skills/Experience

Essential:

  • Understanding of ISO 9001.
  • Experience in a mechanical/inspection environment of quality control and assurance principles, quality improvement tools, metrology, and inspection techniques.
  • Reading engineering drawings and understanding geometrical tolerancing.
  • Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable:

  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience in Dimensional checking within a Heavy engineering enviroment.
  • Qualifications in MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection) and UT (Ultrasonic Testing).
  • Experience and knowledge of associated testing/inspection requirements with material handling projects.
