Job Title: Sales & Marketing Manager
Location: Sheffield (Office-Based)
Working Hours: Mon - Thurs 07:00 - 15:30, Fri 07:00 - 12:30 (37.5 Hours per Week)
Reports to: Group Directors

Salary: circa 50k - 60k (dependant on experience)

Our client is looking for a strategic and dynamic Sales & Marketing Manager to drive growth, foster long-term partnerships, and enhance their market presence across both UK and international markets. This senior, high-visibility role requires a commercially astute leader who understands how to deliver competitive advantage and achieve sustainable growth.

Role Overview:
The Sales & Marketing Manager will play a key role in the strategic and operational direction of the business, working closely with Group Directors to ensure profitable growth and robust market positioning. This individual will be responsible for identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities, designing effective sales strategies, and managing customer relationships at the highest standards. With a focus on business development and revenue growth, they will develop targeted plans to increase earnings from core products, drive market penetration, and spearhead new product and service offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Directors and senior colleagues to establish sales and marketing objectives that ensure market penetration and increased profitability across targeted sectors.
  • Monitor and adjust pricing strategy based on competitor analysis, market share, and customer needs.
  • Develop and manage the CRM system to maintain key customer information and sales data.
  • Research and analyse opportunities for new product development aligned with customer needs and market trends.
  • Drive all sales and marketing activities, including digital marketing and social media.
  • Develop and execute strategies for new product/service offerings.
  • Lead contract management review processes and ensure accuracy in documentation.

Key Duties:

  • Set and achieve sales and new business development targets.
  • Coordinate with departments such as Production, Engineering, and Customer Services to streamline customer-focused initiatives.
  • Identify and resolve production or process constraints impacting sales goals.
  • Manage and own the quotation log and customer contact process, providing regular updates to Directors.
  • Present monthly sales reports to management, covering sales potential, project pipeline, and KPI progress.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in steel fabrication and machining, with a proven track record in Sales & Marketing and New Business Development. They will be a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in high-quality precision fabricated and machined products. The successful candidate will have led sales teams, developed effective strategies, and built strong, long-term client relationships.

Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • Extensive Knowledge of Steel Fabrication & Machining: Demonstrable industry expertise.
  • Sales & Commercial Acumen: Able to set and meet challenging targets and seize profitability opportunities.
  • Strategic Planning Ability: Analytical and data-driven, with the ability to benchmark and respond effectively to competition.
  • Strong Customer Relationship Management: Skilled at fostering long-term partnerships and providing exceptional service.
  • Innovation-Oriented: Capable of identifying new market opportunities and leading product development initiatives.

  • New Sales Targets: Monthly (To be agreed)

  • Conversion Rate: Achieve a 30% or higher rate of converting qualified leads to new customers
