We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Home Manager to lead a childrenā€™s learning disability home in Sheffield. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management, operation, and development of the home, ensuring it provides a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for children and young people with learning disabilities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing strong leadership to staff, fostering a culture of empathy, respect, and excellence.
  • Overseeing the recruitment, training, and performance management of the team.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to meet individual needs and enhance the quality of care.
  • Ensuring the home operates in line with regulatory requirements, including Ofsted standards.
  • Promoting a child-centred approach, developing personalised care and support plans.
  • Advocating for the childrenā€™s rights, ensuring their voice is heard in decision-making.
  • Maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including safeguarding.
  • Conducting regular audits to ensure high standards of care and safety.
  • Addressing and resolving any concerns or incidents promptly.
  • Managing the homeā€™s budget efficiently and ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders, including families, local authorities, and healthcare providers.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing a residential childrenā€™s home or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of learning disabilities and the challenges faced by children and young people in care.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and regulatory frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate a team to deliver outstanding care.
