As a Healthcare Support Worker with Exclusive Secure Care Services, you will work supporting in a variety of roles. The main role would be supporting patients with Behaviour that Challenges in hospital environments both NHS & private. However, we also require each staff member to be flexible to cover across our other job roles as and when required. This may involve residential settings and our secure transport provision.

  1. supporting patients on wards and in A&E
  2. supporting young people (generally) in a supported living environment.
  3. supporting patients and young people within our Secure transport role which involves the transfer around the country.
Once in post you can choose the role that suits you best however roles 1 and 2 are predominately set 12 hour shifts, whereas role 3 is an on call basis as and when required

You will be working in environments with both adults and children who have behaviours that challenge and the role will be to protect the well-being of all persons and to ensure the safekeeping of patients, visitors and staff.

We ensure our staff are trained to the highest level; allowing any scenario to be competently handled and effectively managed.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

The Healthcare Support Worker will be required to:

Respond to calls from ward staff and/or site security staff to deal with patients who may have behaviours that challenge.

Dynamically assess the situation and take the appropriate action to resolve the situation taking all the relevant factors into consideration.

Treat patients with dignity and respect, always being conscious of their particular requirements and always maintaining a person-centred approach.

Ensure the safety and well being of your patient and medical staff alike.

Assist your medical team in the event of an emergency in any way you can.

Complete timely, factual records as the shift transpires.

Complete regular and routine training as directed by the Management Team.

The role whilst mainly working in a hospital environment, may include working within other areas of the Companys business which may include residential settings and secure transportation of both adults and children.

You may be required to work between sites.

Education and Skills Required

  • Fluency in English (both written and verbal)
  • Experience of working with challenging behaviour is desired, but not essential
  • Having a 'can-do' attitude towards new tasks
  • Ability to adapt to either team or lone working
  • Effective verbal and written communication - Essential
  • Ability to self manage your workload around the Service User's requirements Essential
  • Competency with modern smart phones
  • SIA Qualification that is in date (If applying for the Security officer role)
  • Full UK Driving Licence essential for full time employment

Essential Requirements of the role

  • Enhanced DBS and subscribed to the update service (will be completed by Exclusive Secure Care Services Limited if required)
  • Candidates to work shifts Generally 12 hours but can vary and are both days and nights- This could change depending on the need of the client
  • Available to work Monday to Sunday

All relevant training will be provided by Exclusive Secure Care Services limited.

All candidates will be required to attend a pre-employment Physical Intervention training course as part of the interview process.

  • Pay will further progress should you wish to progress towards being a Senior Supervisor starting at £15.00 an hour - £32,760.00
  • Pay will further progress should you wish to progress towards being a Team Leader/Manager starting at £16.00 an hour - £34,944.00 per annum

Job Types: Permanent full time and Zero Hours Contracts.
