A CAD/ CAM Manufacturing Engineer is needed for a key position within a forward-thinking Engineering & Manufacturing team. The role requires an individual with a robust understanding of CAD/ CAM principles and a strong interest in the industrial/manufacturing sector.

Our client is a large-scale industrial/manufacturing organisation based in Sheffield.The company is renowned for its innovative steel engineering solutions, making it a leader in its field.

Description

  • 3D modelling of customer components and producing 2D drawings from the models, using Unigraphics.
  • Producing both turning and milling programmes using Unigraphics.
  • In house development work including designing.
  • Produce step by step routing of components through the Machine Shops to optimise production.
  • Taking a methodical approach in identifying and monitoring risks on process changes

Profile

A successful CAD/ CAM Engineer should have:

  • A degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field is desirable.
  • Strong programming experience, for castings and forgings.
  • Good knowledge of modern milling machine cutters and methods.
  • CAD/CAM experience, ideally Siemens NX.
  • Ability to create models and manufacturing drawings is essential.
  • Experience using Unigraphics.
  • Experience in offline Programming of CNC milling and turning machining is essential.
  • Experience using programme verification software, such as Vericut

Job Offer

  • A competitive salary of 44,000 rising to 49,000 per annum, once commencement of afternoon shift pattern.
  • 37.5 hours per week, days initially then moving to a 2-shift system - Mornings and afternoons after successfully completing induction
