CNC Machinist
Location: Sheffield
Salary: 17.40 p/h + 11% shift allowance

Day Shift: 6:00 am - 1:20 pm (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri), 6:00 am - 2:50 pm (Wed)
Afternoon Shift: 1:00 pm - 8:20 pm (Mon-Thurs), 1:00 pm - 10:00 pm (Fri)
Night Shift: 8:00 pm - 6:20 am (Mon-Thurs)

Adept Resourcing Engineering Division are working with a leading engineering and steel production company, recognised globally for their excellence in the design, manufacture, and delivery of high-quality steel forgings and castings.

Operating from a state-of-the-art site in Sheffield, our client is looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to join their team. This role will involve operating both manual and CNC machines, with a focus on precision engineering.

Role Responsibilities

  • Operate and program CNC machine tools.
  • Interpret and work to complex engineering drawings.
  • Machine large steel castings and forgings.
  • Sling and operate cranes, moving large components to facilitate machining processes.
  • Apply continuous improvement tools (such as 6S) to maintain operational standards.


About You

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:

  • Experience operating both manual and CNC machines.
  • Extensive knowledge in turning, with additional skills in milling and boring being advantageous.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in writing and understanding CNC programs.
  • Crane driving and slinging experience is highly desirable.
