CNC Miller/Setter/Operator & Programmer

Role Overview
A precision manufacturing company are seeking a skilled and flexible individual to join their team as a CNC Miller/Setter/Operator and Programmer. This role involves setting up, operating, and editing programs for advanced milling machines. With a variety of products and high-performance equipment, your experience with CNC operations will contribute to a highly skilled and adaptable team.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC milling machines (3, 4 & 5 axis), adjusting controls, wear offsets, and performing manual data input.
  • Accurately set up machines to ensure consistency and repeatability in production.
  • Read and edit existing programs and write basic programs by hand when needed.
  • Interpret detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Utilise precision measuring tools (e.g., Vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, shadowgraphs).
  • Understand tooling and fixturing processes to ensure efficient operations.
  • Work independently, meeting customer deadlines and solving any production-related challenges.
  • Consistently maintain high-quality standards in all tasks.
  • Take pride in showcasing your skills in a modern, clean environment with well-maintained equipment.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and skill development within the team.
  • Take ownership of your output while supporting the team and company goals.
  • Adhere to good manufacturing practices and strict health & safety guidelines.
  • Promote optimal machine usage to maximise production output.
  • Maintain a cooperative and helpful attitude toward colleagues to foster positive working relationships.
  • Ensure attention to detail within your section and assist other sections as required by management.
  • Practice excellent timekeeping and work ethics.
  • Uphold company policies, including those related to breaks, mobile phone use, and IT equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to relevant health and safety policies for your section.
  • Monitor equipment for maintenance needs and notify management accordingly.

  • Break-time: Half lunch break, plus a 15-minute breakfast break if starting at 7 AM or earlier.
  • Overtime Rate: Mon-Sat: x0.5, Sun: Double-time
