Elevation Recruitment Group's skilled shop floor team is currently seeking a CNC Turner for a reputable manufacturer in Sheffield.

Position: CNC Turner Location: Sheffield, UK Shifts: Mornings and Afternoons

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating CNC turning machines and a strong understanding of machining processes.Responsibilities:
  • Set and Operate CNC Turning Machines, produce components from British standard drawings.
  • Use measuring and gauging equipment to quality check produced components 
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Identify and raise awareness of any non-conformity issues on an item
  • Maintain awareness of Health and safety requirements
  • Adhere to time keeping and attendance procedures
  • Data collection and reporting is kept up to date at all times 
  • Maintain housekeeping procedures - working in a clean, tidy and safe environment in accordance with 5S practices
  • Safe handling of materials and distribution equipment 
  • Work in a safe manner and adhere to company health and safety requirements
Requirements:
  • Time served or apprentice trained CNC Machinist
  • Well-organized, careful, and methodical worker.
  • Highly motivated and self-starting.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet key deliverables.
  • Sound engineering machine shop background, including CNC and manual machine experience.
  • Familiar with measuring and gauging equipment.
  • Experience working in and developing a lean manufacturing culture.
  • Experience with MRP systems within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Fanuc, Mazatrol, Acramatic, and Alphalink numerical control programming.
