Andy File Associates are recruiting a Site Foreman for well-established construction and refurbishment company specializing in high-quality commercial and residential projects across the UK. We are committed to delivering excellence in construction through innovation, craftsmanship, and collaboration.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Hands-On Site Foreman to oversee and actively contribute to the refurbishment of 45 residential flats in Sheffield. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, refurbishment, and site supervision. As a hands-on foreman, you will not only manage day-to-day site activities but also work alongside the team to ensure quality and efficiency in project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Supervision: Oversee the daily operations on-site, ensuring work is carried out safely, to high standards, and in line with project timelines.

Hands-On Involvement: Actively participate in construction and refurbishment tasks, including demolition, installation, carpentry, or other relevant trades.

Team Leadership: Manage and lead site operatives, subcontractors, and tradespeople, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Health and Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations, conducting site inductions, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.

Quality Control: Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards and in compliance with building regulations and specifications.

Progress Reporting: Report daily/weekly progress to the Project Manager, including any issues or delays that may affect timelines or budgets.

Material and Equipment Management: Coordinate the delivery and efficient use of materials and tools, ensuring minimal wastage and timely procurement.

Problem-Solving: Identify and address any on-site issues or challenges to avoid project delays.

Client Liaison: Work closely with the client and stakeholders, providing regular updates and maintaining strong professional relationships.

Qualifications and Experience:

Proven experience as a Site Foreman or similar supervisory role in residential construction/refurbishment projects.

Hands-on experience in a relevant construction trade (e.g., carpentry, bricklaying, plastering, etc.).

Knowledge of construction and refurbishment processes, with a focus on residential properties.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage site personnel.

CSCS card (required).

SMSTS/SSSTS qualification (preferred).

First Aid at Work certification (preferred).

Excellent understanding of Health and Safety regulations.

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
