A leading Tier 1 supplier to Network Rail with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects. Due to continued growth and contract wins, we are looking for a Contracts Manager oversee the delivery of civil engineering projects across the rail sector.
About this Contracts Manager role:
In this role you will be leading the team within the Buildings Division, working on project and minor works particularly buildings and platform maintenance and repair. You’ll be ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards of health, safety, environmental compliance, and quality. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage both planned and reactive maintenance works across a variety of rail assets.
Key Responsibilities as a Contracts Manager:
- Project & Contract Management - Oversee the delivery of works within the framework, ensuring compliance with industry standards and contract specifications.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement - Act as the key point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring project objectives are met.
- Programme & Commercial Oversight - Develop schedules and manage budgets to ensure projects are delivered on time and within cost constraints.
- Risk & Compliance Management - Implement risk control measures, ensuring adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Reporting & Performance Analysis - Provide regular project updates, cost forecasts, and lead monthly review meetings.
- Team Leadership - Manage and support a team to deliver high-quality maintenance and project works efficiently.
What We’re Looking For:
- Relevant engineering or commercial qualification (e.g. BSc in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience).
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- In-depth knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, particularly compensation events and risk management.
- Proven experience in framework contract management within rail, infrastructure, or buildings asset management.
- Background in delivering both reactive maintenance and project works in a fast-paced environment.
