Our client have an exciting opportunity for a Data Protection Lead, working within their Governance Team to ensure that our client maintains the highest standards in protecting the personal data of customers and colleagues. This role is a hybrid role working remotely and from their Sheffield Head Office, with a great range of benefits and flexibility.

More about the role:
This role reports directly to the Head of Governance and will take overall responsibility for our client maintaining compliance with its data protection obligations and the role holder will be their nominated Data Protection Officer (DPO). Responsibilities include:
- Supporting colleagues to uphold the highest data protection standards
- Dealing with and responding to data breaches
- Dealing with and responding to subject access requests
- Maintaining an information asset register for ROPA, data retention obligations etc.
- Ensuring appropriate data sharing agreements are in place
- Providing guidance and training to colleagues
- Auditing of compliance within the organisation’s services
Who you are:
- Excellent understanding of the requirements of the UK GDPR and DPA
- Great customer service ethic (internal and external customers)
- Good standard of digital competence (MS Office, databases)
- Great organisational and observational skills
- Must be passionate about data protection
- Must be a good communicator able to engage effectively with a variety of audiences
- Excellent project management & problem-solving skills
- Able to meet deadlines
- Able to work autonomously and within a team
