Power BI Developer | £50,000 - £60,000 | Sheffield (Hybrid, 3 Days Onsite)

A growing financial services company is looking for a Power BI Developer to take ownership of their reporting and analytics function. This role is ideal for someone who wants to optimize Power BI performance, enhance reporting capabilities, and contribute to a fast-growing data function.

The Company

This company provides innovative financial solutions, offering interest-free payment plans for essential services. As they expand into new markets, they are heavily investing in data infrastructure to drive insights and improve business performance.

The Team

This role reports to the Head of Data, a hands-on leader who has built the data infrastructure from scratch. The team includes:

  • Head of Data - Leads engineering and analytics.
  • Two Analysts - One focused on Power BI, the other combining analytics and engineering.

They work with AWS, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Airflow for data orchestration, integrating multiple data sources via APIs and using Power BI for reporting.

The Role

As a Power BI Developer, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing Power BI reporting, improving data models, and implementing best practices for performance enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own and manage the entire Power BI stack, developing dashboards and reports.
  • Optimize SQL queries and data models to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Implement Incremental Refreshing, Row-Level Security (RLS), and Version Control within Power BI.
  • Improve reporting workflows, reducing manual processes through automation.
  • Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and leadership to deliver key insights.
Key Requirements
  • Power BI expertise - Strong experience in building dashboards, optimizing data models, and improving performance.
  • SQL proficiency - Skilled in joins, window functions, and query optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with Incremental Refreshing, RLS, and Power Query.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in data analytics, BI, or reporting.
