Solicitor / Chartered Legal Executive - Debt Recovery
Sheffield | 28,000 - 45,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Are you a skilled legal professional with experience in debt recovery and defended claims? We are working with a well-established organisation in the financial and legal sector, currently seeking a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join their growing team in Sheffield.
The Role:
As part of this dynamic legal team, you will be responsible for:
- Managing a defended caseload through a case management system.
- Assessing high-value or complex pre-legal debts for potential legal action.
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and court bundles for small claims, fast track, and multi-track cases.
- Advising clients on legal matters, recovery prospects, and dispute resolution strategies.
- Collaborating with courts, enforcement agencies, and other suppliers to ensure a high standard of service.
- Handling insolvency actions such as bankruptcy and winding-up petitions.
- Managing return of goods claims and other related legal proceedings.
The Ideal Candidate:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A law degree (or equivalent legal qualifications) and be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive.
- Experience in handling a defended caseload on the Small Claims Track (preferred).
- Strong IT skills and the ability to adapt to new systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a solution-focused approach.
- Confidence in making and receiving telephone calls to liaise with clients and other stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work towards targets and earn performance-based bonuses.
Location & Working Hours:
Sheffield - Office-Based (Hybrid potential after 6 months)
Full-Time, Permanent - 37.5 hours/week (Monday - Friday)
