CAD Technician - SolidWorks Permanent Full-TimeSalary - Circa £27,000 DOELocation - In office, SheffieldWe are excited to support a well-established and rapidly growing fabrication company that specialises in providing high-quality access products in both aluminium and steel, with a strong focus on safety and compliance. The company is known for delivering reliable, custom-designed products that ensure safety and efficiency.The company is seeking a CAD Technician/Draughtsperson who is proficient in 3D CAD modelling software (such as SolidWorks) and has professional experience within a fabrication or engineering company.They pride themselves on providing a collaborative and supportive work environment where you can develop your skills and grow with the company.Responsibilities, but are not limited to

  • Interpret client and engineer instructions to create CAD drawings in SolidWorks
  • Create basic layout drawings of buildings based on client instructions, incorporating the product range and other relevant products
  • Revise and modify drawings according to feedback from engineers or clients
  • Occasionally visit sites or locations to gather data for accurate drawings
  • Consult with engineers to understand design instructions and resolve any queries
  • Ensure drawings comply with engineering data and original design specifications
  • Modify existing drawings as required, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design specifications
  • Meet project deadlines, ensuring all drawings are completed on time
  • Store and organise drawings electronically, ensuring all data is accessible and up to date
  • Create and maintain schedules for priority drawings
  • Perform office-related tasks and administrative duties as needed

Experiences required

  • Demonstrable experience using 3D CAD modelling software, such as SolidWorks or similar (Inventor, Solid Edge, Onshape, Siemens NX, Creo, Catia, Fusion 360)
  • Ability to create manufacturing drawing packs (DFM)
  • Experience within a fabrication or engineering company
  • A relevant degree, vocational qualification in CAD, or time-served experience in Engineering or Design would be beneficial
