As a Mechanical or Electrical Design Engineer, you will be instrumental in creating and delivering designs for diverse projects. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, you will ensure technical accuracy and project success. Your expertise will help shape modern, sustainable building systems in line with client expectations and industry standards.
Responsibilities & Activities:
- Develop and produce detailed designs, schematics, and layouts for mechanical or electrical building services projects.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and project teams to ensure seamless integration of designs.
- Perform calculations and analyses to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulations.
- Prepare technical reports, design specifications, and project documentation.
- Attend site visits to oversee implementation, address challenges, and verify designs.
- Support the adoption of energy-efficient and sustainable practices in project designs.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise to clients and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in mechanical or electrical building services design engineering.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
- In-depth knowledge of building services regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for client and team interactions.
- Experience with sustainable and energy-efficient design principles (preferred).
- Based in or willing to relocate to Sheffield, with occasional travel to project sites.
