GSL Education are seeking an inspirational and imaginative Drama Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Sheffield. This role requires expert subject knowledge,outstanding classroom management skills, and the ability to motivate students through captivating and immersive lessons.

About the Role: As a Drama Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons that encourage students to develop their performance skills, confidence, and appreciation for theatre. You will play a key role in fostering a love for drama and creativity while ensuring students achieve their full potential.

Drama Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Drama lessons for KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Teach both practical and theoretical aspects of Drama, including performance techniques, script work, and theatre studies.
  • Direct and oversee school productions, drama clubs, and extracurricular activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Maintain high expectations of student behaviour and classroom discipline.
  • Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where all students feel encouraged to express themselves.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Drama curriculum and contribute to the broader Performing Arts department.
  • Ensure students develop key skills such as teamwork, creativity, and confidence.

Drama Teacher Requirements:

  • Must hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or have UK teaching experience.
  • A degree in Drama, Performing Arts, or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Drama in a secondary school setting.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons.
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • A passion for inspiring students through performance and creative expression.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
