Long Term Futures is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Pastoral Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Sheffield (S18). This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with the school's pastoral lead, creating a positive learning environment that supports students' social, emotional and academic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the pastoral lead to support behaviour management and improve attendance.
  • Provide in-class support to students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Conduct 1-1 sessions to address pastoral concerns and offer guidance to students in need.
  • Respond to on-call support requests from staff as part of the pastoral team.
  • Regularly review and update individual student plans based on assessments and progress monitoring.
  • Complete risk assessments for students to ensure a safe, supportive school environment.
  • Build positive relationships with students to promote positive behaviour and engagement in school life.

Person Specification:

  • Experience in a education setting is essential.
  • Previous experience supporting children/young people with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Ability to provide confident and effective support to students.
  • A passion for helping young people succeed and develop in a nurturing environment.
