Join a vibrant team in a primary school in Sheffield as an SEMH Teaching Assistant and help shape the future of the students!About the Role:Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a friendly and motivated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in North Sheffield. The successful candidate will work on a 121 and small group basis working with primary aged students from EYFS to Year 6 with SEMH.
The hours will be 8.30am-3.30pm each day.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in Planning and Delivery: Work closely with teachers to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons.
- Support Pupils: Provide tailored support to individual pupils or small groups, ensuring every child reaches their full potential.
- Classroom Management: Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
- Assessment and Feedback: Assist in assessing pupils' work and providing constructive feedback to support their progress.
- Extra-Curricular Activities: Participate in and sometimes lead extra-curricular activities and school events.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to continually improve your skills and knowledge.

- Experience working in a primary school or young people setting.
- Understanding of the primary national curriculum.
- Prior experience working with students with SEN including SEMH.
- Teaching Assistant or SEN qualification desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passionate: A genuine enthusiasm for working with children and helping them succeed.
- Patient: Able to manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectively.
- Creative: Innovative in your approach to teaching and able to inspire young learners.
