A warm and welcoming two-form entry primary school in south Sheffield is seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team on a maternity cover basis, beginning in January 2025. This role is a full-time, term-time-only position, working Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Role Overview:As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD). You will work both within the classroom and in specialised break-out areas and sensory rooms, helping to create a positive, engaging learning environment tailored to each child's individual needs. Your role will also involve supporting the school's behaviour management strategies, so confidence in behaviour management is essential.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with ASD and additional needs.
  • Proven ability as a confident behaviour manager.
  • Teaching Assistant qualification at Level 2 or above (preferred).
  • Team Teach qualification (an advantage).
