Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Provide in-class support to Year 5 pupils, assisting with their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Offer tailored one-to-one support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them overcome learning barriers and achieve their potential.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging pupil participation and independence.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons and adapt learning activities for pupils with diverse needs.
  • Support pupils with managing challenging behaviours, using de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement.
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to planning discussions.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to support the overall well-being of the children.
  • Help prepare classroom materials and resources to facilitate effective teaching and learning.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and welcoming school environment, adhering to safeguarding policies.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with Key Stage 2 pupils and/or SEN children.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively and promote positive outcomes for pupils.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with children and staff.
  • Eligible to work in the UK without any restrictions.
  • A proactive and patient approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • A genuine passion for working with children and helping them succeed in their education.
