Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to enhance their engineering team and drive innovative design solutions.

Location: South Yorkshire, S9 2RX (Office Based with Potential WFH Options)

Salary: £45,000K - £50,000K PA

Job Type: Full - Time, Permanent, Working Monday to Friday 9:00am – 17:00pm

Electrical Design Engineer – The Role:

The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for tasks such as electrical design, power distribution, and power systems within the company's projects.

The ideal candidate would someone who is flexible and adaptable in their approach to project design, with the ability to work on things outside their normal comfort zone in a multidisciplined environment and a quick learner.

This role is primarily office-based, with some remote work possible upon agreement with your line manager. You will need to be in the office, especially during conceptual design stages and project handovers.

Electrical Design Engineer – Key Responsibilities:

- Responsible for compliance of design against local and national regulations in force and the ability to ensure compliance with the clients’ requirements specifications

- Ensure design is compliant with relevant legislation with certificates and client requirements

- The design of products and services provided by the company, covering electrical drawings, panel drawings and general arrangements, along with mechanical drawings where needed, i.e. for panel locations by example

- Identify and advise any design concerns for all products provided by the business, and resolve where possible

- Document all designs, produce technical records

- The ability to keep up to date with latest products in the market

- Manage bill of materials for equipment and site packages

- Liaising regularly with the design manager and project managers to ensure projects are on track and within budget

- Provide assistance to the production team and site services engineers

Electrical Design Engineer – Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

- Electrical Design, Electricity, Electrical Engineering and Control System experience is essential for this role

- Engineering Qualification essential

- Expertise in Power Distribution and Power Systems is essential for this role, ideally in both Diesel and Gas generators, their control systems and applications

- Experience in designing and implementing electrical and control systems

- Knowledge and experience of EPLAN and / or 2D AutoCAD for production of electrical single line diagrams and panel drawings / general arrangement drawings

- Working knowledge of 18th Edition of Electricity at work Regulations

- Proficiency in electrical standards and regulations

- Skills in Expeditor and Expediting to ensure that project equipment arrives when needed

- Knowledge of Logistics Management

- Experience in Inspection and Quality Control and delivery in line with ISO9001 and 14001

- Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively and planning capabilities with experience of Microsoft Project

- Strong problem-solving abilities

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment

- Full driving licence is required

Desirable:

- Practical experience of 400v systems an ideally some knowledge and experience of HV, i.e. 3.3kv, 6.6kv or 11kv

- Ideally knowledge of ComAP equipment would be of benefit through training will be given to the right applicant

- Knowledge of networking systems will be of benefit including CAN and Ethernet networks
