- Oversee all electrical, electronic, and process control work (planned and breakdown) on the plant
- Provide first-line maintenance and breakdown support, including internal and external plant lighting
- Manage electrical activities on shift, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards (Permit to Work, High Voltage Safety Rules, and Isolation procedures)
- Perform electrical installation work in line with BS7671 Wiring Regulations (18th Edition)
- Assist in planning shift activities requiring specialised electrical expertise
- Support and perform continuous improvement initiatives
- Report and document plant breakdowns, contributing to Single Event Analysis (SEA) and implementing preventive measures
- Maintain accurate engineering records in SAP
- Work on or assist with mechanical systems as needed
- Lead, coach, and develop team members, including mentoring Electrical Apprentices
- Motivated to excel in demanding and challenging environments
- HNC qualified or proven electrical experience in large steel making operations
- Familiar with the melting shop environment and its processes
- Strong practical Mechanical/Electrical hands-on skills
- Skilled in leading, coaching, and developing team members
- Experienced in continuous improvement programs, especially planned maintenance activities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong planning and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledgeable about health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
