We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for a leading independent building services engineering consultancy based in Sheffield. This well-established practice has been delivering innovative engineering and design solutions since 1988, working with both private and public sector clients.

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will manage a small team, delivering a diverse range of projects, from smaller sites to large-scale, multi-million-pound developments across sectors including healthcare, residential, education, and commercial. You will play a key role in overseeing the procurement of new work, liaising with clients and contractors, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers, managing project delivery from concept through to completion.
  • Oversee project budgets and expenditure, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Utilise the latest software to produce high-quality engineering designs.
  • Communicate directly with clients, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and professionals to ensure integrated solutions.
  • Mentor and develop your team, providing guidance, training, and motivation.

What We're Looking For:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design within the building services industry.
  • A relevant qualification (HND, Degree, or Masters) in Building Services or a related field.
  • Membership of a professional institution (or working towards).
  • Previous experience in a similar role, with a good understanding of CAD or modelling software.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
