An opportunity has emerged for a Senior Mechanical Engineer seeking to advance their skills and career in Mechanical Engineering at a higher level. This role offers the chance to collaborate with and lead mechanical engineers on projects, system and equipment design, and engineering consulting in a rapidly growing sector of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and growth of the mechanical engineering team and enhance competence across all company sectors.
  • Lead the primary design of industrial mechanical systems and specify requirements for detailed design and construction for both internal and external clients.
  • Contribute to the advancement of mechanical safety initiatives throughout the business.
  • Oversee and manage mechanical engineering activities for major and minor projects, ensuring they are completed safely, accurately, and on time.
  • Understand customer needs and requirements to develop new work streams.
  • Ensure all installations and applications meet customer needs and adhere to safety standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and partners involved in design, effectively implementing these designs.
  • Conduct quality and performance assessments on new mechanical projects.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • BEng Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years experience within a similar role
  • Experience in both mechanical design and / or fabrication for both structural steel and process pipework
  • A thorough understanding of ASME B31.3 and a working understanding of the various manufacturing UK and global standards relating to the fabrication of Pressure Systems, Lifting Equipment, Storage Tanks, Structural Steelwork and Process Pipework.
  • Practical knowledge of P&IDs
  • Practical understanding of structural inspection
  • Experience working in a project-based environment
  • Proven experience leading teams of technical professionals
  • Excellent personal and interpersonal skills such as organisation, communication and attention to detail.

Role Detials:

  • Based remotely (at home) with UK project-based assignment work as required
  • Frequent periods of travel for project and site work
  • Occasional overseas travel for meetings, site visits and project work
  • Willingness and ability to travel to and work from site facilities and offices across the UK.
