Electrical Estimator
SheffieldSalary: £40,000 - £55,000 (DOE)
Are you an experienced Electrical Estimator looking for a new opportunity? I am working with a well-established commercial interiors company that is seeking a skilled professional to join their team. This is a fully office-based role located on the outskirts of Sheffield, easily accessible by public transport from the city centre. The company works on a variety of projects, ranging from minor works (£200) to large-scale contracts (£1M) for major clients, including Cleggs Construction (£100M+ turnover), AMEY (£2.8B+ turnover), and CBRE (£30B+ turnover).
The ideal candidate will be a qualified electrician with experience in electrical estimating and must be located within a one-hour commute of Sheffield.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate electrical cost estimates for projects of varying sizes and complexity.
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to produce competitive quotations.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and design teams to ensure cost-effective solutions.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Present detailed proposals to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Qualified Electrician (NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition, or equivalent).
- Experience in Electrical Estimating - ideally within commercial and industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical installation methods, materials, and costs.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical specifications.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with suppliers and clients.
- Must be located within a one-hour commute of Sheffield.
- Self-motivated with excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tenders.
