Maintenance Electrician
Location: South Yorkshire

Salary: £37,107.77 + 20% Shift Allowance
Average of 40 hours per week
Continental shift pattern: 06:00 - 18:00, 18:00 - 06:00

Adept are working with a leading engineering and steel production company, recognised globally for their excellence in the design, manufacture, and delivery of high-quality steel forgings and castings.
They are currently in a period of significant growth and modernisation, following a strategic acquisition in 2021. This has reinforced their position as a key supplier to critical sectors, including defence. As part of their ongoing program, they will be upgrading our facilities and equipment over the next decade.

Adept are seeking a Maintenance Electrician to join the maintenance team. The role involves repairing and performing planned maintenance on various machinery, including our main forging presses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain plant equipment, including but not limited to:
  • DC & AC Cranes
  • Hydraulic presses and related equipment
  • Open-die forge presses with manipulators
  • Radial forging machines
  • Install new machinery and equipment
  • Work at height as required
  • Follow safe systems of work at all times
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure effective planning of maintenance tasks


About You

  • Fully qualified electrician
  • Trained to 17th edition regulations and standards
  • Strong knowledge of electrical installation
  • Proficient in fault-finding on both DC and AC controls
  • Familiarity with predictive and planned maintenance techniques
  • Experience with heavy industrial equipment (e.g., overhead cranes, AC/DC machinery)
  • Willingness and ability to work shifts
