Electronics Engineer/Inspector

Adept are working with a new Sheffield based manufacturer who are looking to recruit a Electronics Engineer Inspector.
The role:
The Electronics Engineer/Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring that products meet specified standards using established tools and guidelines. This individual will inspect and verify product quality to ensure compliance with required specifications before products reach customers. The goal is to minimize and prevent quality issues within the company while maintaining high quality standards, reporting directly to the QHSE Manager.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in projects to reduce internal and external quality issues.
  • Travel with the QHSE Manager to suppliers and engage in quality processes.
  • Assist in continual improvement projects and further developments.
  • Test defective products and prepare reports.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to address difficulties in producing new products and implement suitable quality control measures.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints and issues related to company products.
  • Support the development and maintenance of internal test procedures.
  • Report to and assist the QHSE Manager.
  • Conduct visual and specific tests to confirm production specifications.
  • Communicate regularly with the QHSE Manager and participate in meetings.
  • Undertake training to expand job responsibilities.
  • Maintain the calibration system to ensure compliance with 9001 requirements.
  • Complete and support reports and logs with data and inspection results.
  • Analyze quality issues in detail, set trends, and build a database to prevent future quality issues.
  • Perform internal audits to support 9001 requirements.
  • Conduct quality inspections on deliveries and modified products.
  • Rework, test, and visually inspect electronics.


Person Specification

  • Basic electronics knowledge
  • Fault finding to component level
  • Safe practice of mains voltage primary (side) transformers
  • Experience in PCB manufacturing
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience in small to medium business
  • Collaborative working experience (internal & external)
  • Previous quality role experience
  • A-levels, C&G, NVQs in a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Health and Safety Awareness Training
  • Quality Management System 9001 knowledge / Internal Auditor for 9001
  • Writing SOPs/testing instructions
  • Experience with basic technical equipment - Use of equipment multimeter, caliper, power supplies, etc.
  • IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with industrial standards and directives
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and timescales
  • Confident in task execution and interaction with people
  • Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD)
  • Holds a current UK driving license
  • Willingness to travel nationally and occasionally internationally
  • Ability to work at heights
