Your new company
Working for a well established accountancy practice in Sheffield who are continuing to grow their team size and are looking for a capable Accounts Manager to support the team.The company is looking for a capable Practice Assistant Manager to support the team and handle the more complex accounts in the portfolio.They are situated close to Sheffield city centre in stunning offices with excellent on-site parking.
Your new role
This position will require you to have an intricate knowledge of Practice accounting processes and procedures. This will include:

  • Reviewing the quarterly VAT returns prepared by junior members.
  • Maintaining your own client base of complex client quarterly VAT returns and ensuring records are requested and processed in time.
  • Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies. Including balance sheet reconciliations, PAYE, VAT, corporation tax etc.
  • Preparing self-assessment tax returns for clients
  • Managing your own workload, deadline prioritisation and liaising with the manager/director of the department.
  • Assist with HMRC enquiries.
  • Training and assisting junior members of the team when required.


What you'll need to succeed
Essential to have extensive Practice experience and ideally hold or be well underway with AAT / ACCA / ACA (QBE considered)Excellent knowledge of process and procedures in Accounting.
A willingness to learn and share knowledge with the junior members of the team.
Experience in software packages: IRIS (Desirable) Xero, QuickBooks, Sage.
