Axon Moore is seeking a Finance Director for an owner-managed service sector business in the Sheffield region with a turnover of under £10m.
The Finance Director will collaborate closely with the owner and board to strategize for growth, including potential acquisitions and new market opportunities.
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and be qualified finance professionals, ideally with a background as a Financial Controller or Finance Director.
The role requires a hands-on approach, as the Finance Director will currently be the sole accountant and will eventually build a small finance team.
The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience, reflecting the entrepreneurial nature of the role.

Axon Moore are working with an owner managed, sub £10m turnover business in the Sheffield region to appoint a Finance Director.The business is within the service sector and the Finance Director will work closely with the owner and board to position the businesses for growth. This growth may include further acquisitions, as well as organic growth targeting new markets.The Finance Director will at the moment be the sole accountant within the business so they must be willing to work in a ‘hands on’ environment. They may be able to pull in support from other areas of the business, and over time they will be able to build a small finance team.Key responsibilities will include:

Working with the owner to plan, execute and manage a range of business growth initiatives Managing a range of external stakeholder relationships
Assess existing banking facilities and suggest alternative means of funding growth
Preparing all statutory filings at year end
Manage VAT and Corporate Tax administration
Establish some foundation management reports to enable better financial planning
Managing the ledgers and maintaining a tight position on working capital and cash

Qualified finance professional with experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Director (or equivalent)
Strong grasp of basic accounting principles, including preparation of statutory accounts
