The ideal candidate will manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring that they meet their obligations to file tax returns and to provide clients with a proactive, efficient, and cost-effective taxation service. The purpose of this role is to assist in the management of the team on a day-to-day basis and offers the opportunities to assist in the provision of ad-hoc personal tax advisory work, as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a portfolio of personal and trust tax clients, including the preparation of Self Assessment and Capital Gains Tax Returns. Reviewing returns prepared by less experienced members of the team.
- Involvement in the firm's P11D and PSA work including the preparation and review of forms and calculations and assisting in the day-to-day management of the P11D process.
- Provide clients with a proactive, efficient, and cost-effective taxation service that meets their needs and those of the regulatory authorities including the provision of ad hoc advice as required.
- Day to day involvement in training and coaching less experienced members of staff including some line management.
- Researching and drafting private client and employment tax advice.
- Report to and keep the management and partner team up to date with progress on jobs undertaken.
Person Specification:
- Qualified by experience or CTA qualified.
- At least 2 years' post qualification experience of Personal Tax work.
- Able to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Excellent time management skills in order to meet a variety of strict deadlines.
- Experience of some line or process management is preferred but not essential.
- Tax advisory experience is desirable but not essential.
- Some experience of other taxes ideal, but not essential.
