The Company: A regionally renowned and very well-established wealth management firm looking to add a Trainee Paraplanner into their technical team. An excellent opportunity for someone to move away from administration and step into a pure paraplanning team/role, further developing their technical skills and awareness on a practical, case management level.

  • Office Location: Sheffield
  • Hybrid/Home Working:Majority office-based, with 1-day p/w WFH

Package: Circa £30k base DOE + bonus & full company benefits

The Role: A paraplanning role/remit supporting multiple high-performing financial advisers working with high-net-worth, private wealth focused clientele. Duties include:

  • Liaise with product providers, examine policy information and obtain client specific illustrations and comparisons to support the analysis of data for client asset reviews.
  • Undertake research both independently and with the Planner to identify suitable solutions to meet the client’s needs.
  • Produce clear, compliant, and technically accurate recommendation reports.
  • Completion of pension, investment, and tax calculations as appropriate.
  • Work closely with the Financial Planners to deliver a seamless, end to end service for Clients.
  • Develop good working relationships with product providers, technology suppliers, team members, Clients and Advisers.
  • Keep up to date with compliance and regulatory changes and maintain a high level of technical knowledge through ongoing learning and continued professional development.

The Person: Will have experience within a Financial Planning Administrator role and has maybe touched into some basic research/suitability report writing work. Some without that exposure yet but is on with their studies towards their QCF Level 4 Diploma would also be of interest. Ideally you will:

  • Be progressing towards Diploma with 2/3 R0 exams done
  • Have touched into basic paraplanning work for ISA top-up and/or pension switch cases
  • Hold some exposure to using financial planning tools such as Voyant, FE Analytics, Select-a-Pension etc
