The firm has a strong team ethos and looks for outstanding technical ability and strong client care skills. A vacancy has now arisen for 2 x ambitious Crime Duty Solicitor, 1 x West Yorkshire and 1 x in South Yorkshire.Role OverviewThe role will manage a busy caseload encompassing the full remit of criminal offences. Attending clients at police stations and Magistrates Courts throughout the area and progressing cases to trial this role will require someone who is passionate about this field and possesses strong advocacy skills.Key Responsibilities
  • Attending clients at the police station both in an out of hours
  • Conducting advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court
  • Acting in serious cases involving sexual offences and murder
  • Legal Aid applications
  • Reviewing complex evidence
  • Preparing for and conducting cases at trial.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Duty membership not essential but desirable. Would consider non-duty Solicitors
  • Very flexible in terms of PQE so newly qualified up to senior Solicitors welcome to apply
  • Possesses strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Able to manage own workload with minimal supervision
  • Excels in client care and service
  • Works well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrates an aptitude for advocacy.
