Group Senior Risk Partner

Role Overview & PurposeOpportunity to join a leading UK business adding to an established risk management function in a key role operating at group level across the retail and FCA regulated businesses.

Offering a very flexible hybrid working policy, the business ask for 2/3 days per week in their head office located in South Yorkshire.  Alongside the basic salary, the role comes with a very good benefits package to include annual bonus, pension contribution and healthcare.

Role responsibilities.

  • Accountable for implementation and delivery of the Risk strategy across the Group and key operational deliverables within the team.
  • Takes ownership of the identification, capture, reporting of principal risks and material controls, supporting the Senior Leadership team, with assessing these risks and implementation of risk mitigation strategies across the Group.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, including using external knowledge to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities and impacts and analyse possible risks
  • Responsible for ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices, providing guidance on risk governance frameworks
  • Support the Group in embedding a strong risk culture, taking ownership of necessary training or development required and supporting in the delivery of this.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the Group and develop a detailed understanding of the relevant business areas to provide support in documenting, assessing and mitigating the risks identified
  • Provide strategic advice to the leadership team on risk and emerging risks to support business decisions by assessing potential risks and opportunities and assessing these with the relevant senior stakeholder.
  • Responsible for identifying and monitoring emerging risks and trends that may impact the organisation, ensuring these are captured, reported and managed in line with the risk management framework. 

Personal Attributes & Experience

  • Experience of working in a Risk partner role. Demonstration of this experience and knowledge of risk management is key.
  • The ability to provide consistent advice, guidance and training to a range of stakeholders across the Group.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across the Group, with strong communication skills across a variety of audiences
  • Ability to work collaboratively to provide a commercial yet appropriate approach to risk management 
  • Effective leadership, communication, and people skills, capable of fostering a culture of compliance and ethical behaviour.
